NIRJULI, Oct 15: Prominent cricketer Akhilesh Sahani, who has represented the state in various domestic competitions, has signed with Truro Cricket Club (TCC) for Cornwall Cricket Premier League 2025 in England.

Sahani, who is a permanent player of Nirjuli Cricket Club (NCC), one of the top clubs in Arunachal Pradesh, has been a consistent performer for the state. His selection for TCC marks a significant step forward in his cricketing career and is a proud moment for the entire state.

Delighted on learning about Sahni’s feat, NCC chairman Tarh Nachung termed it as a proud moment not only for all club players but for whole state. It is a testament of his club’s efforts in nurturing young talent. However, he stressed that this opportunity would not only benefit Sahani but also inspire other players to strive for excellence as proved by Sahani through his hard work and dedication.

“I believe this will make a significant difference in development of cricket in the state. Players like Sahani excelling in international level would inspire others to follow suit,” he said with conviction.

More importantly, this is not the first time a player of NCC has made it to English cricket as another prominent cricketer Techi Doria had earlier played for Wolverhampton Cricket Club of United Kingdom.
